Total War SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition Free Download: There Is No Free Version, Here Is How to Save

If you searched for a Total War SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition free download, here is the direct answer: there is no legitimate free download. The Complete Edition is a paid PC game, released on October 13, 2026 by Creative Assembly and MATABOO and published by SEGA. This article covers only the legal ways to get it for less, and it does not describe or link to any unofficial source.

Why There Is No Legitimate Free Download

The Complete Edition is a separate product. It is not a free update to the original game, and it is not offered free through any official store. The only free items in the official offer are legacy DLC for existing Steam owners of the original SHOGUN 2, who receive any legacy DLC they do not already own at no cost.

Official stores sell the Complete Edition at $39.99 on Steam US, with regional prices that vary. Creative Assembly has not announced a free period or free access for new players.

Option 1: The 75% Loyalty Discount

Existing owners of the original SHOGUN 2 on Steam can get a time-limited 75% loyalty discount on the Complete Edition. The discount started at launch on October 13, 2026 and ends on November 12, 2026 at 16:00 GMT.

Option 2: The Steam Bundle

Buying the Complete Edition on Steam also includes the original Total War: SHOGUN 2 and all of its DLC. The one exception is the Blood Pack, which is excluded from the bundle because of its age ratings. The Blood Pack adds dismemberment and blood effects, and it can be toggled in the options menu.

Since September 28, 2026, the original SHOGUN 2 can no longer be bought standalone on Steam. For new Steam buyers, the bundle is the way to get the original game, and its store page stays live for reference.

Option 3: Waiting for Store Sales

Watching for sales is a legal way to pay less, but no sale dates have been announced in the official sources. Check the store pages on Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Microsoft Store and GOG regularly. Because the 75% loyalty discount is the only known offer with a fixed end date, set a reminder for November 12, 2026 if you own the original on Steam.

Checking Your Price Before You Buy

Follow these steps before you pay. First, open the store page on Steam and confirm the price for your region, since prices vary. Second, check whether your Steam account already owns the original SHOGUN 2, because that decides whether the loyalty discount applies. Third, compare the bundle contents, because Steam is the only store that includes the original game. You can read the Steam store page for Total War SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition for the official details.

Be Careful With Download Offers

Any site that offers a free download of Total War SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition is not an official source, and the official stores do not offer one. Do not download installers, files or keys from unofficial pages. They can carry malware, and they are unlawful copies of a paid game. If you want a Total War SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition download, buy only from the stores listed in this article, and check the address of any store page before you enter payment details.
