Total War SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition is a PC game. It is sold through Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store and GOG, and no PS5, Xbox, Switch, Mac or Linux version of Total War SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition has been announced. If you are looking for the game on a console or a Mac, the honest answer is that there is no official version to buy yet. Total War SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition was released on October 13, 2026 for PC only.
What Is Confirmed for PC
The PC release is the only version of Total War SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition with an official launch. Steam lists Windows only, and the minimum requirement is 64-bit Windows 10 with an Intel Core i3-8100, 8 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060 3GB. The recommended setup is Windows 11 with an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, with 70 GB of storage for both.
Steam also lists features such as online and LAN PvP, online and LAN co-op, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Family Sharing and HDR. You can see the full store listing on the Complete Edition Steam store page before you buy.
| Platform | Status | Official Source |

Mac and Linux: Do Not Mix Up the Versions
This is a common source of confusion. The original Total War: SHOGUN 2 from 2011 had Mac and Linux ports by Feral Interactive. Those ports belong to the original game, not to Total War SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition. Feral Interactive did not make the Complete Edition, which was developed by Creative Assembly and MATABOO and published by SEGA.
If you want a Mac or Linux build of the original game, that is a separate product from 2011 and is not the Complete Edition. For the Complete Edition itself, do not assume it will run on macOS or Linux. Our Steam platform guide covers the PC release.
Choosing a PC Store
Four PC stores sell the Complete Edition: Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store and GOG. The store you pick affects what you receive. Steam includes the original SHOGUN 2 and all of its DLC, except the Blood Pack, so it is the only store with the original game in the same purchase. The other three stores include the Complete Edition only.
Here is how the four stores compare.
| Store | What It Includes | Platform |
|---|---|---|
| Steam | Complete Edition, original SHOGUN 2 and DLC except Blood Pack | Windows |
| Epic Games Store | Complete Edition only | PC |
| Microsoft Store | Complete Edition only | PC |
| GOG | Complete Edition only | PC |
Steam also lists extra features on its store page, such as Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing. If those features matter to you, the Steam listing is the place to confirm them.
Hardware Notes for a PC Build
PC players should check the requirements before they buy, since the game is only offered for Windows. The minimum setup is 64-bit Windows 10 with an Intel Core i3-8100, and it targets High settings at 1080p and 30 frames per second. The recommended setup is Windows 11 with an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, which targets Medium at 1080p and 60 frames per second, or High at 1080p and 30 frames per second.
The Complete Edition also adds DLSS SR and AMD FSR 3.1 upscaling in the official list of features. These options are listed as features, but they do not change the platform. The game remains a Windows PC release.
Mods and Platform Limits
Mods are another reason to stay on PC for now. The Complete Edition supports mods through Mod.io, not Steam Workshop. Mods for the original SHOGUN 2 are not compatible with the Complete Edition. Check the official mod updates on the Creative Assembly blog before you assume the modding tools will expand.
Consoles and Steam Deck
No console version has been announced, so there is nothing to compare for PS5, Xbox or Nintendo Switch yet. Steam Deck compatibility has not been published yet, so do not treat it as verified. If you plan to play on a handheld, wait for an official statement before you buy.
What to Do If You Want to Play Now
If you want to play today, the Complete Edition on PC is the only official option. Choose the store where you already have an account, check your PC against the requirements, and compare the Steam bundle with the other stores. Steam includes the original SHOGUN 2 and its DLC, except the Blood Pack. The other stores include the Complete Edition only.

How to Check Future Platform News
Only official sources can confirm a new platform. Check the Steam store page for the Complete Edition and the Creative Assembly blog. Treat rumors, forum posts and videos claiming a console date as unconfirmed until they appear in an official post. The official site at totalwar.sega.com is the other place to watch.
